The Project & Technical Sales Engineer is the initial technical resource for the sales desk, they are responsible for identifying and providing reliable solutions for all Technical enquiries and project issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Operating as a bridge between Customers and the supply partners engineering teams, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the company products. The focus of the role is the preparation of accurate product/project quotations whilst communicating effectively with customers and internal colleagues. You will be working alongside one other Technical Sales Engineer.
Responsibilities:
– Work with the business development managers (BDM’s) and fellow sales team members to meet and where possible exceed the company’s strategic initiatives and overall growth targets (GT’s).
– Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications.
– Articulate product positioning to both colleagues and external Customers, including competitor substitutions, cross-sell opportunities and up-selling where appropriate.
– Production of quotations for customers in a clear, detailed, and accurate manner.
– Providing and assisting colleagues on technical and engineering issues.
– Negotiating and achieving deadlines for the submission of quotations.
– Building relationships with customers and potential customers to understand their requirements.
– Planning job timescales, including assessing the levels of risk on a project.
– Helping with bids for new contracts/projects by interpreting customer performance requirements, gathering proposals, specifications and related documents and liaise with stakeholders to convert.
– Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company Microsoft Dynamics CRM software.
– Communicating (follow ups) with customers to gain feedback on quotations.
– Workshop support on repair and sub assembly projects.
– Achieving relevant group and individual KPI’s.
– Handling of a specific group of existing accounts with the aim of achieving their individual GT’s.
– Pursue new business opportunities in line with Sales initiatives and targets in conjunction with BDM’s.
– Liaise with suppliers and support management decisions by providing appropriate cost information and data.
– Liaise with marketing and operations (Purchasing) to provide continued feedback to ensure competitive pricing.

Hours – Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm – 4pm finish on a Friday
Salary – £28-30k basic + realistic OTE of £6/7k per annum
