Job Introduction

The role of Engineering Support is to provide support to the tunnelling engineering function.

The Engineering Support position will report to the Senior Tunnel Engineer

Opportunity to engage with and undertake ad hoc duties assisting the Senior Tunnel Engineer and Tunnel Engineer with their tasks to gain experience and knowledge of this specialist discipline

Being a member of the Tunnel Engineering Management team provides opportunity to contribute into other aspects of this discipline and provide direction advice and support to the design and construction teams and receive learning and experience to assist career progression.

Role Responsibility

• Provision of CAD drawings for engineering aspects
• Interface with tunnel construction delivery teams to gather information for engineering assessment
• Be aware of and become familiar with present and upcoming construction activities to bring context to engineering responsibilities
• Inspection and subsequent record production of key items of the tunnel works and feeding back findings and information to the team as required
• Collation and review (as directed) of ground settlement change and SCL or TBM parameter data for the tunnel drives
• Production and maintenance of technical and assurance documents / registers etc.

• Engineering or Design Management experience (desirable)
• Construction experience (desirable)
• Temporary works experience  (desirable)
• CAD capabilities (essential)
• Self motivation and an eye for innovation (essential)
