Full Time – Permanent
£27,500 base salary rising to circa £33,000 including shift enhancements, on call and AP and CP payments
Serco provide a variety of Hard FM Services including Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Support Services for Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. We are looking to recruit a Technician with bias for mechanical or electrical engineering.
You will be expected to carry out planned and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance to services on the site. The Technician (Mechanical or Electrical) – shift will undertake improvement and capital works as directed by the Estates management team.
You will work to a shift rota covering early shift, day shift, backshift and weekend working and be flexible for annual leave and shift cover changes and there is a requirement to participate in an on call rota that will provide response to all out of hours reactive (Mechanical Electrical/Building) requests, reporting and escalating as and when required to Estates Management.
What you’ll need to do the role
Recognised CITB apprenticeship or a demonstrated equivalent (minimum NVQ level 3)
Possession of an ONC in Mechanical Engineering or City and Guilds Craft Certificate relevant to trade or similar recognised trade certificate
Health and Safety legislation relevant to trade
Extensive experience in a building services environment, preferably Healthcare but not essential
