Working with a World Class Manufacturing business based in Scunthorpe AQUMEN Recruitment are looking to introduce an experienced Trainee Quality Engineer on a Fixed Term Contract to the end of December 2022.
As a Trainee Quality Engineer you will be working alongside the Quality Manager and be responsible for all customer quality and engineering issues (in relation to the specific customer and platform), providing pro-active support and response.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Communication
o Understand customer requirements and expectations in detail and then communicate with the internal team in order that it is fully understood
• Customer Service
o To be the main focal point to the customer, internal teams and the supplier for all quality and engineering issues during the program life, from initiation to End of Life
o Take responsibility for recording, progressing, responding and close-out of customer concerns, utilising the 8D (or other problem solving techniques) as required
o Conduct internal and external Audits
• Technical
o Project manage product quality and engineering requirements through ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report), Capability Studies, AAR (Appearance Approval Report) etc., in support of NPI (New Product Introduction), APQP (Advanced Quality Product Planning) & PPAP (Pre Production Approval Process) o Define, specify and project manage the manufacture and introduction of the necessary test equipment and gauging to satisfy the quality requirements o Define and optimise the measurement techniques to deliver a stable and capable production process utilising SPC and DOE processes o Support design reviews and prototype builds o Lead Quality & Production team in preparation of FMEA’s and Control Plans an document the output using the necessary systems defined in NPI, APQP, PPAP and customer and Company procedures
• Development
o Support Production Team training in relation to the customer expectations and quality requirements
• KPI’s
o Responsible for management and reporting of customer specific KPI’s related to reject PPM (Parts per Million) and CAR (Capacity Analysis Report) performance
As Trainee Quality Engineer you will also ensure that 8D’s completed within the required timeframe and reported back to key stakeholders and all Quality issues to be investigated and escalated to the relevant parties
The ideal candidate will be degree educated and have previous experience of working in a Quality Engineer role. Experience of either Automotive or Injection Moulding would be preferred. You should be customer focused with analytical and excellent problem solving skills. With good experience of using Microsoft Office packages you should have a flexible and adaptable nature to your workload and be comfortable negotiating and influencing others.
In return the successful Trainee Quality Engineer will receive a salary of £27000 – £30000 (pro rata) along with a host of benefits including: Free On-Site Parking, EAP Programme, 25 days holiday (pro rata) & Salary Extras package.
