A Senior Python Developer position has become available at a specialist consultancy that designs and develops tailored and advanced software solutions in cooperation with over 100 well-known clients in the financial industry.
As a Senior Python Developer, you will be required to lead complex and challenging projects to enforce transformation for their financial clients . The Python developer will operate with an agile methodology, developing and implementing advanced financial systems for the future.

As a Senior Python Developer, you will be responsible for:
Building micro-services and systems that allow financial companies to process various data streams, using streaming/Messaging/REST technologies.
Be able to utilise technologies to create high quality, scalable services, that can be deployed efficiently (Consul, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Spark).
The ideal applicant will be required to have:
8+ year’s commercial software development experience with complex applications.
Hands-on experience with the Django Framework.
Experience and understanding of Python 3.4+.
Be able to work in an agile environment.
Be able to function code in Python/ OOP.
Experience with Python testing (i.e Behave & PyTest).
Familiarity with data modelling.
Have a strong understand and use of databases such as: SQL, MongoDB, or key:value.
Experience in Messaging/streaming/REST API’s.
Strong relational and organisational skills.
Desirable attributes include:
Commercial background and interest in global finance and financial products.
A solid understanding of Java or JavaScript(ES6).
Experience with big data (Hadoop ecosystem).
Experience in machine learning/Data science.
Experience with Numpy/Pandas.
You will be working Monday- Friday, with at least 1-2 days in the office.
For this reason, the successful Senior Python Developer will need to be able to commute to the City of London when required.
