Mobile Vehicle Technician Automotive – Police Vehicle London – Park Royal Salary up to £38,295 + Company Van + Bonus Hours – Shift work (4 day on 4 days off) – Days & Nights
Introduction We are currently working with a larger defence company who ae looking for an experienced Mobile Vehicle Technician to assist in servicing and repairing motor vehicles. As a mobile vehicle Technician, you will be required travel to various Police Stations & roadside breakdowns throughout London to repair a variety of police vehicle.
PLEASE NOTE, DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS ROLE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL NEED TO EITHER ALREADY HOLD OR BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN UK SECURITY CHECK (SC) LEVEL SECURITY CLEARANCE. ANY APPLICANTS NOT MEETING THESE CRITERIA WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISREGARDED.
Roles & Responsibilities As the experienced Mobile Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for:
Traveling around London to service, maintain and repair vehicle components and accessories, in line with company and/or manufacturer’s instructions, including removal and refitting in a safe, proper and economical manner using equipment provided.
Diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques. Including road testing where deemed necessary
To order parts necessary, ensuring that no parts are fitted to vehicles other than those required to complete the work.
To be responsible for correct part/s stocking, stock control of all parts on the MMU van and be responsible for updating stock where necessary
Ensure the correct completion of all job-related documentation (job cards, parts orders, logbooks etc.) including job write-ups.
Ensure due regard to the Road Traffic Act and Company Procedures and immediately notify of any pending endorsements or prosecutions against your licence
Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified as a motor vehicle technician
Hold a City & Guilds 1 & 2 in Motor Vehicle Studies or equivalent NVQ levels 2 & 3
Full UK Driving Licence with no previous disqualifications from driving
Ability to read, interpret & comprehend technical instructions
Have experience repairing Hybrid & electric vehicles.
Have experience with diagnostic equipment and fault diagnostic methods
Be eligible to obtain a SC security clearance.
