About the role
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and core service within Bath Spa University, which focuses on enabling students and contributing to the delivery of an inclusive learning and teaching environment. Accessibility Advisors provide professional and specialist advice and guidance to disabled applicants, current students and their supporters, work across the University and with Academic staff to ensure reasonable adjustments are effective and embedded within the curriculum. The post holder will identify reasonable adjustments and prepare Academic Access Plans to ensure that disabled students are able to access all aspects of their studies and academic life. The role will include signposting support within the Student Wellbeing Service about independent living and other issues that may arise from student life. The role will work across all BSU Bath campuses and a hybrid working pattern is offered.
About you (requirements)
You will be an experienced disability practitioner, ideally in an education or public sector setting and have a commitment to enabling disabled people to realise their potential. You are a highly motivated professional with excellent interpersonal, administrative and IT skills. You are able to build and maintain constructive working relationships with a diverse range of people at all levels, both internal and external to the University. You will have knowledge of inclusive practice and disability legislation, competency in assessment of complex information and problem solving, and demonstrable experience of managing the implementation of reasonable adjustments.
