Blueprint Recruitment are excited to be working with a prestigious engineering consultancy, based in the Manchester Area. Our client operates within a multitude of sectors, including engineering, architecture and building services, this role would be an ideal company for someone looking to progress to the next stage of their career.

This role is suitable for a Senior, Principal or Associate Structural Engineer looking to make an impact within an ambitious company. Working closely with the Engineering Director, this position will involve leading and growing a team by directing future workload and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Time, cost, quality and resource and delivery management including communication with the department and management to ensure that resource, project and customer requirements are clearly understood and met.
• Monitoring of project fee spend and commercial objectives, including CVR management.
• Design and technical reviews, including peer group audit functions of the designs of other team members for ‘Perfect Delivery’.
• Act as an interface to clients on key projects ensuring a responsive customer-focused service
• Ensure team compliance with company quality management and best practice
• Contribute to the production of enquiry plans, tender reviews, fee estimate sheets, scopes of work, change control preparation.
• Manage Cost of Further Works and resource plans.
• Provide feedback on the performance of the department from a technical and operational perspective.
• Provide technical support and guidance to help develop, retain and engage members of the C&S team, supporting the clients commitments to diversity and staff development.
• Review the production of calculations, drawings, specifications and reports, site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison, liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and any other relevant duty required to comply with the project brief.
• Management of project quality, technical assurance and delivery.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

• Chartered Member of ICE and/or IStructE.
• Demonstrable track record of technical leadership and of delivering multi-disciplinary projects in at least one sector that the client operates in.
• Strong ability to develop enduring relationships with both internal and external stakeholders that deliver long term benefits.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to eloquently present complex ideas.

Desirable

• Considerable experience in mentoring, developing and upskilling.
• Extensive experience of delivering multi-disciplinary projects in several sectors that the client operates in.
• Ability to develop, deploy and implement strategic vision.
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
