The role:
You will undertake Instructor duties in the centres Automotive and Marine departments. Based within the North Road centre and other areas as directed, to deliver high quality and effective instructing within the Automotive & Marine departments to Bournemouth and Poole College students.
You will undertake Technician duties, generally in the Automotive and Marine workshops, stores and in other areas as directed, to assist lecturers and instructors in the delivery and maintenance of training programmes.
As our Technician /Instructor Automotive Marine Engineering you will:
– Contribute to high quality learning experiences using a variety of methods.
– Ensure that the instructing is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard reflective of the work environment.
– Provide academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.
– Undertake such other reasonable duties as the line manager may require from time to time.
– Participate in the College’s appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate.
– Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others.
– Pursue the achievement and integration of equal opportunities throughout all The College’s activities.
– Implement and maintain maintenance schedules for all department equipment in line with manufacture guidelines
– Prepare materials for use by students, lecturers and instructors
– Prepare and clear away any material apparatus, equipment and materials ensuring correct storage and correct inventory records maintained
The ideal Technician /Instructor Automotive Marine Engineering will need:
– Working knowledge of the Automotive/Marine Industry
– Health & Safety in use of Engineering industry equipment
– Experience in implementing successful processes and systems
– Training provided by the College
– Willing to undertake further training and CPD as required
– Strong interest in developing resources
– Capable of preparing materials for use in the workshop for student projects
– Basic ILT Skills
