Background
We are currently seeking to appoint a Communications Officer (Staff and Stakeholders) for a fixed term (up to 12 months) who can work with us to deliver effective internal communications to our staff.
The Communications Officer will join a friendly team of motivated professionals who work together to tell City’s story to our internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
Using the full range of internal communications channels, the Communications Officer will deliver key communications to staff to enable them to carry out their roles and stay connected to the University.
They will be responsible for working with colleagues across all levels and areas of the University, including the Executive Team, on staff communications and messaging, often producing copy under very tight deadlines using first-class written communication skills.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have experience of working in internal communications, including the use of a wide range of communications channels such as intranet and e-newsletters, as well as stakeholder engagement, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills are essential as the job involves building relationships with people across all levels of the University and in the community.
Experience of developing and delivering communications plans, multimedia skills and knowledge of the higher education sector are desirable.
