Consilium Recruit Looking for Procurement Manager at Cardiff Gate Full Time

A national engineering group specialising in advanced technologies, has a new vacancy for a Procurement Manager. You will have experience implementing and managing procurement systems and processes, with strong negotiation skills and a CIPS qualification, candidates must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to react and deal with queries promptly.

Commutable from: Newport, Bristol, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Bath, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Filton, Abergavenny, Caerphilly, Chepstow, Newport, Bridgend, Monmouth.

Salary: £ 42,000 – £50,000 p.a. + flexible working and a leading benefits package.

The Role

Working closely with senior manager and team member to assess procurement requirements and tailor systems and processes to support procurement activities.

Ensure compliance with procurement directives and funding agreement requirements in order to avoid business exposure to litigation and reputational risk.

Manage compliance of tender processes, safeguarding all procurement documentation for audit purposes

Manage data files and ensure previous procurement activity is in place for audit trails.

Manage contact with external procurement advisors for large projects

Provide guidance to staff on how to follow procurement systems and legislation as required

Develop and implement souring strategies and participate in negotiating contact terms

Participate in reviews, audits and assurance processes

Support in wider initiatives to improve commercial capability and educate teams on commercial skills

The Candidate

MCIPS or Level 4 CIPS qualified or working towards

Advanced knowledge and practical application of end to end procurement processes

Strong negotiation skills and contract management

Demonstrable experience of contact law and drafting contracts

Demonstratable experience in delivering procurement activities using Public Contracts Regulations

Ability to conduct market research and negotiate with Senior Manager

Strong analytical skills, communication skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
