Head of Pre-Construction/Estimating

Fieldoaks Group are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our clients business as the Head of Pre-Construction/Estimating. The role working for a Main Contractor within the high-end residential market in London, and having previous experience at this level is strongly recommended. In this role, you will play a crucial part in preparing, completing, and delivering accurate tender offers to secure new projects successfully. Your primary goal will be to identify the most competitive market prices for various projects, ensuring that our company remains a top choice in the industry.

Key responsibilities for Head of Pre-Construction/Estimating include:

• Conducting diligent and detailed adjudication on sub-contract/package offers.
• Leading the tender team on larger projects and delivering multiple tenders as workload dictates.
• Directly managing the supply chain to foster quality and competitive tenders.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with both the supply chain and external customers.
• Providing cost advice and market information to external customers and developing good relations with internal stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities Head of Pre-Construction/Estimating:

• Establishing close relationships with Directors and delivery team members to ensure smooth system operations.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Ensuring accurate records of tender and contract documents are received, with the assistance of a document controller.
• Preparing detailed bills of quantities and schedules of works for accurate pricing by tenderer.
• Compiling tender comparisons to consider only complete subcontract bids.
• Offering advice on risks, value engineering options, and work-winning strategies.
• Evaluating and presenting all risks for inclusion in the tender settlement.
• Handing over successfully won tenders to the project team and maintaining contact for knowledge transfer.
• Working closely with the supply chain to ensure ongoing provision of competitive tenders.
