Management Accountant Logistics, North Kent £45,000 – £55,000 + benefits
The Company
A Management Accountant is sought by a leading International Logistics group based in North Kent. This fast-expanding business with an enviable reputation has recently moved to a brand new Head Office with market-leading facilities to support its expansion into new markets facilitating its organic and acquisitive growth. As a result, the group seeks a proactive and ambitious qualified management accountant supporting the financial controller and taking responsibility for all month end accounting, budgets and forecasts.
Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant
Responsible for the month end accounting process through the provision of accurate and timely information to tight Group reporting deadlines for all UK sites
Preparation of detailed analysis of Management accounts, budgets, variances, commentaries, and financial statements
Assist UK Operational site Managers in the absence of the Financial Controller across all UK sites
Assist in the monthly review of WIP and accruals
Preparation and Maintenance of General Ledger and other standard journals including Prepayments, Accruals, and Fixed Assets
Completion of Month end and Quarter end balance sheet reconciliations with relevant schedules
Key involvement in the UK statutory audit including producing lead schedules
Preparing information for the annual budgeting process
Monthly Intercompany Reconciliations with worldwide offices
Monthly Payroll processing and reconciliations, working with HR and the outsourced payroll service provider
Annual preparation of P11D information for ADP
Ad-Hoc Accounts Reporting & other Duties as required
Skills & Attributes of the Management Accountant
Qualified Accountant – ACCA, CIMA or ACA (this would be suitable for someone who has trained either in practice or in industry)
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) including revenue recognition
Strong balance sheet and reconciliation experience including intercompany reconciliation
Organisational skills and strong attention to detail
Good communication skills and a team player with a positive outlook
A foreign language would be advantageous as this would provide more options for international roles within the group
