An International insurance & finance technology organization is hiring an engineering manager to join their expanding London-based team. They work with huge volumes of data, challenging and interesting projects such as machine learning and computer vision and work in an agile environment. They are very supportive of the hybrid way of work and are keeping up with all the latest technology trends and developments.
THE ROLE: As an engineering manager, you will have an expansive range of responsibilities, including:
Managing a team, formulating long term strategy
Working with internal stakeholders both technical and non-technical
Improving Agile working practises
Design, development and upkeep of required software using Python
Establishing and promoting the use of best practices in the software engineering life cycle
Maintaining and developing on AWS
Deliver complex solutions & problem solving
Mentor Juniors
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Line management experience
Experience developing a team
Significant commercial experience with Python
Commercial experience working with cloud native solutions in AWS
Experience with IaC – terraform, ansible, etc
Experience with SQL and databases
Experience with software best practises – CI/CD, Github, testing etc
Nice to have:
Exposure to machine learning projects
Big data experience / operating Python at scale
Pragmatism
THE BENEFITS: The salary range for this role is £90,000 to £110,000 as well as benefits, a bonus and is hybrid
