Your new role
Hays are working in partnership with a well-established independent SEN school in North East Leicestershire which accommodates for students aged 7-16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and have struggled to access mainstream education. The school offers students a varied curriculum including GCSEs, BTECs and Entry Level qualifications as well as a full vocational programme. At the last Ofsted the school was rated “Good” overall.
The school are looking to recruit Teachers on a full time temporary to permanent basis to start as soon as possible. Teachers with Primary and Secondary experience will be considered.
Your responsibilities
You will plan and deliver lessons to students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis taking into account individual students needs and abilities. You will encourage students in their personal development, achievement and integration into school. You will utilise Teaching Assistant support within the class ensuring that the best level of care and education is provided to students. You will follow the schools policies regarding safeguarding and behaviour to ensure a safe learning environment for all.
What you will need to succeed
You will be passionate about inspiring students to achieve their full potential whilst improving their social and emotional welfare. You will have the ability to think on your feet and stay calm whilst dealing with challenging situations. The ideal candidate will be resilient, have a calm and engaging demeanour and enjoy working with children. Whilst previous experience of working in within a SEN environment would be desirable, the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
