Hays Technology are looking for two Security Engineers to join a managed service provider who specialise in providing cloud, network, telephony and wider IT solutions. The role will be remote for the most part, with the occasional meeting in York or Harrogate.
Lead Security Engineer – £55,000 – £70,000
Security Engineer – £45,000 – £55,000
Your new role
You’ll be helping to develop runbooks and offering escalation to the internal and external Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) managed service function. Working alongside other specialists, you will be helping develop and deliver services spanning vulnerability scanning, threat assessment, SIEM, IAM, penetration testing and network security.
Responsibilities
Lead Role
The lead security engineer will be assisting with roadmap activities and deliberating on cyber strategies going forward, there will also be some team management elements alongside mentoring activities
Responsibilities for both roles
Building, enhancing and maintaining existing SecOps Practice services
Providing insights and advice to the SecOps Practice Lead
Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) work
Developing runbooks
Acting as an escalation point within the internal and external security operations & SIEM functions
Assisting in the development of SIEM and Incident management tooling to enhance internal and external operational security, some knowledge of a modern development language such as Python, Node or .NET will be relevant here
Supporting with technical presales activities
Collaborating with InfoSec and compliance teams to ensure alignment of our client’s security strategy with ISMS framework
What you’ll need to succeed
Experience in SIEM management and operations
Experience of Public Cloud Security controls (AWS and/or Azure)
Experience of Microsoft 365 Defender Suite
Experience in a Technical Security related role
Experience in more than one area of technical security
For the Lead Role – Team leadership and roadmap/strategy experience
An excellent understanding of the principles and technologies involved within security and privacy
Good understanding of modern engineering patterns and tools
Experience writing production code in modern high-level language, such as Python, Node or .NET would be very useful
Experience of Continuous Delivery
Experience of PCI-DSS would be useful
Evidence of continuous professional development (relevant industry certifications)
