Your new company I am pleased to be supporting a reputable and well established manufacturing client in Leyland to recruit an experienced Inventory Planner into their Logistics team.
Your new role The Senior Inventory Planner will be responsible for managing the stock availability within the warehouse and distribution centres in the UK and overseas. Using the internal systems, you will review orders and place new orders according to demand levels, always ensuring that optimal levels of stock are held. This will entail coordinating orders and forecasts with a portfolio of suppliers and expediting deliveries to prevent any shortages of stock. The Senior Inventory Planner will analyse and monitor supplier performance and will address any issues that may arise. This role is pivotal to the operation, so you will liaise with various departments on a daily basis such as Procurement, Marketing, Sales, and the wider Logistics team to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible.
What you’ll need to succeed
Knowledge of logistics principles and techniques, including stock control / inventory management.
2-3 years of work experience as an Inventory or Demand Planner or similar position.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Adept at data analysis and be able to interpret results.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Bachelor’s degree logistics, supply chain management, business or similar discipline would be ideal
Six Sigma trained is desirable.
