Production Engineer (Electronic)

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

Hours: Monday – Friday. 9am – 5pm

Our client is continually looking to improve their production processes, incorporating the latest technologies to ensure they are producing parts of the highest quality. The Production Engineer (Electrical/Electronic) is a pivotal role in allowing them to do this. They help design and specify test and production equipment to help automate and eliminate as much defective product as possible.

There is a great opportunity for the Production Engineer (Electrical/Electronic) to make a large impact on the company and make lasting and significant changes to how production operates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• will be involved in New Product Introduction work with R & D, Quality, Production and other members of the Production Engineering team
• involved in design for manufacture reviews, failure mode effect analysis meetings and liaison with suppliers to ensure production will have everything they need to deliver the highest quality product
• Advise and implement on new and upgrading of existing equipment to electronic industrial controls
• Aid the introduction of new processes and equipment
• Support all departments on the use, introduction and implementation of electronics.
• Install electrical requirements of the company, including general maintenance and upkeep of production equipment
• Keep up to date with new advances in electronics/electrics
• Aid in the design and building of assembly and process fixturing of production equipment
• Control and administration of all electrical/electronic spare parts
• Designing and building of control systems
• Programming and setup of PLC controls
• Programming and maintenance of industrial robots
• Electrical and general maintenance and repair of production equipment
• Installation, maintenance and repair of facilities requiring electrical/electronics knowledge

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Experience of working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum Level 3 C&G/BTEC in an electrical/electronic engineering discipline or relevant apprenticeship
• Experience of PLC’s and the use of C++ and ladder logic for programming
• Experience in working with panel wiring
• Knowledge and experience with manufacturing equipment used for an injection moulding process
• Able to make use of manual workshop machinery e.g. lathes and turret milling machines, cutting saws, pillar drills etc.
• Knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Methodical thinking and ability to manage own workload
• Good communicator, verbally and in writing

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

Hours: Monday – Friday. 9am – 5pm

Holiday and Benefits: 25 days holidays + BH (need 3 days for Christmas shut down), 10% Bonus, Cycle to work scheme, Early finish on Fridays
