IPS Group Looking for Graduate Trainee Tax accountant at Leeds Full Time

A chartered firm of accountants in North Leeds are looking for a Graduate trainee Tax accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a unique opportunity for a Bright graduate who studied a finance related degree to kickstart their career in accountancy, specialising in Tax.

Duties:

• Assisting with entering tax information into the relevant sections of our tax software ready for review by a Tax Manager or Partner. Any complex areas may require assistance from an Assistant Tax Manger or Tax Manager.
• Assisting with the tax return portfolio – chasing the relevant internal colleagues and clients to ensure missing information is obtained and all returns in portfolio are submitted to HMRC by the filing deadline.
• Learning technical tax knowledge to identify issues for review stage;
• Sending reminders to clients of required / missing information;
• Assisting with electronic submission of returns to HMRC;
• Following internal processes to ensure our checklists and work tracking software is kept up to date;
• Tax data entry
• Liaising with internal colleagues on job progress and tax payments;
• Learning and using technical tax knowledge to liaise with internal colleagues on matters affecting tax returns and dealing with basic queries from clients;
• Reporting any HMRC enquiry notices to the Tax Manager;
• Completing any other general administrative duties in the tax team, as and when required;
• Returning phone calls and written correspondence within required deadlines and ensuring promises are kept;
• Identifying issues relevant to clients and ensuring these are brought to the attention of the Tax Manager.
• Form good professional relationships with clients, creating an environment whereby clients feel happy to refer their contacts to us.
• Assisting with engaging new clients including dealing with AMLR forms as per firm’s requirements

Full training and study support will be provided towards ATT and CTA qualifications.

This is a 100% office-based role

Salary: £18,000 – £23,000
