We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant for my well-established client in Tipton. The ideal candidate should come from a Manufacturing background, be proactive with strong Customer Service and Administration skills.
Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:
Creating and enhancing effective supplier relationship
Play a key role in sourcing and recommending new suppliers
Negotiate best prices on products
Purchase order placing, you will follow up on any queries to do with these orders and chase them to find out when they will be delivered.
Check stock levels
Ahead of market trends/updates
Organising and overseeing logistics/deliveries of materials to sites
Reporting back to senior stakeholders where appropriate
Ensuring correct contracts are in place
Process RFQ’s
Advise customers of any delays on order’s
Supporting the sales department with other administrative tasks, if requested.

Salary: £25,000.00- £27,000.00
Hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm

Purchasing Assistant Requirements:
Excellent communication – verbal and written English.
Keen eye for detail
Highly organised – able to keep track of a multitude of contracts
Excellent supplier relationship management – conducting regular reviews/audits
IT literate – MS Office/Excel – training to be given for in house systems
MUST have experience of purchasing
Able to work across multiple departments effectively
Strong negotiation skills
