The Role
In this role, you will join our team of committed academics who enable students to transform lives through their practice. You will route lead our PGCE in Physical Education, teaching and organising the education of students in the subject area as well as supervising students on practice placements. You will also make contributions to teaching across our courses, specifically in primary and secondary teacher education.
The Person
An inspirational teacher who is passionate about physical education, sport and activity. You’ve taught in secondary schools and developed and led the subject. You have a deep understanding of developmental physical education, sport and activity and a proven track-record as a practitioner. You are determined to make an impact on policy and practice in the field. You are currently, or keen to become, a research-engaged academic. You’ll contribute new knowledge to the field of education through your research and scholarly activity and, in turn, enhancing students’ learning and practice. You are also someone who relishes the opportunity to undertake a wider area of responsibility in the Department.
If you haven’t already achieved the relevant level of UKPSF teaching recognition (UKPSF Descriptor 2 – Fellow, or Descriptor 3 – Senior Fellow), we will need you to do so before the end of your probation period.

This is a full time role with a starting salary of £45,953.00 per annum.
