My client is looking to recruit a Senior Export/Shipping Executive for its office near Reading.
Role: Senior Export/Shipping Executive
Location: Hybrid/South Reading Area
Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am – 5.30 pm
Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience
Industry: Freight/Export/shipping
The Role:
Working as part of a team co-ordinating the shipping of customer orders within the EMEA. A varied role from the accurate and processing of customer orders, creation of export documentation, managing backorders, handling of any escalations to liaising with third party manufacturers across the world. Keeping up to date with changes in regulations, provide professional export expertise to the business on country specific requirements and local import restrictions.
We are looking for a highly organised individual who has an enthusiastic approach, works well under pressure and has previous export experience including the shipping of dangerous goods.
Key Tasks:
Liaise with Chamber of Commerce and appropriate country Embassy when required
Liaising with 3rd party warehouse and freight forwarders to ensure timely deliveries
Identify and provide all documentation required to export to destination
Advise on shipping of Dangerous Goods
Comprehensive understanding of Inco terms
Responsibility for validation and management of product HS codes
Recognition and management of local country export costs
Coordination of pre-shipment inspections
Handling of Letters of Credit and Power of Attorney
Accurate processing, planning, consolidation and invoicing of customer orders
Professional handling of customer complaints and escalations, returns and credits
Proactive management of customer backorders
Liaise with the Demand Planner on all aspects of the warehousing and distribution network including year-end (and any other) stocktaking
Obtain freight quotes
Provide POD’s and delivery notes
Knowledge skills and experience:-
Fully trained in the shipping of Dangerous Goods
Recognised Export qualification
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role
Proven experience of shipping worldwide Familiar with pre-shipment inspections
Comprehensive knowledge of HS codes
Experience with combining multiple manufacturers goods in one shipping consignment
Computer literate with an intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise, multitask and work under pressure
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Full driving license and access to a car
Ability to identify issues and find most cost effective solutions
Second language and advantage
Educated to high standard with at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above
