The Opportunity
The growing workload within MBDA has created an exciting opportunity within the UK Component Engineering team for a Component Engineer who will be responsible for selecting, vetting, approving, cataloguing and managing the mechanical and raw material components used in our products; ensuring compliance with specific standards. The successful engineer will also be responsible for the management of aspects of our obsolescence process.
They will get to know in detail the latest products, technologies available and will be able to advise a designer of the best product to use that will satisfy their need. To do this successfully, up-to-date knowledge must be maintained by regular visits to relevant stakeholders and suppliers. With this knowledge, the Component Engineer will be able to advise on the best component solutions for MBDA products ensuring the selection of suitable components based on risk.
There is also the opportunity to support both local international continuous improvement initiatives to help define best practice and manage the adoption and adherence of agreed methodologies across the teams on an international scale.
