I have the pleasure of supporting a world-leading independent research organisation who are looking for an Engineering Technician to join their Engineering team at their Nottingham facility. You will be responsible for the manufacture & development of bespoke equipment to support the work the wider business does, using a range of different workshop equipment.

The Engineering Technician will be responsible for supporting with the manufacture & development of bespoke equipment that supports the research they do.

Description

As the Engineering Technician you will be supporting the Engineering Manager in the development & manufacture of bespoke equipment that supports the day to day research this client does. As well as:

Key Responsibilities:

• The role will include turning, milling, grinding, and drilling, including the manufacture of jigs, tool setting and programming (protoTRAK)
• Fabrication, fitting and welding processes will also be commonly used and peripheral techniques will require the use of plastics, resins and wood machinery
• Joint responsibility for workshop maintenance and will take an active role in safety and quality management
• Use a range of workshop machinery; both manual and computer controlled (CNC)

Working Hours: Monday – Friday – 37 hours a week/Days

Profile

You will ideally have experience working in a workshop/engineering environment, as well as:

• Recognised Engineering qualification (Level 3 or above ideally)
• Competent with the following machinery:
  • Lathes (manual and CNC)
  • Milling machines (with or without dividing heads)
  • Surface and cylindrical grinders
  • Drilling machines
  • Tapping machines
  • band-sawing machines
• Ability to work within a team & on your own

Job Offer

Circa £25,000 – £28,000
