Lead and develop sales activities and sales team to achieve the business strategy and objective. Responsible for dealers and customers in the given area or country. According to the agreed strategy and business targets, grow the customer base and dealer footprint.
The Sales Director will be:
- Responsible for sales strategy for the assigned area, developing guidelines and policies in line with the business strategy.
- Selling of high value capital equipment solution through specification which is integrated, retrofitted and converted on to commercial vehicles.
- Selling into the construction, waste, forestry, logistic and recycling sectors through dealers, direct to commercial vehicle OE and body builders
- Responsible for sales expansion, ensuring new product introductions, new market insights and active relationship management towards existing and new customers.
- Negotiate terms of sales and deal with significant national / regional accounts.
- Establish and monitor areas targets in areas such as product mix, sales volume, market share, or business development.
- Select and manage relationships with channels and agencies to ensure satisfactory standards of service.
- Challenge, guide, develop and coach team members to reach their sales targets and continuously improve key skills; develop and lead implementation of new process excellence initiatives, including organization set-up, resourcing, and cost control for improved efficiencies.
- Full P&L & net working capital responsibility for the divisions
- Develop and establish an offering for all sales opportunities
- Pipeline management
- Implement agreed customer segment strategy. Establish a differentiated customer base and align the terms and business approach accordingly.
- Implement new products to the market.
- Work closely with all divisions on must win deals with consolidated gross margin calculations, product offering and customer expectations
- Prepared to travel within and outside UK.

The Sales Director ideal requirements:
- Management qualification or other professional management/sales training (desirable)
- Recognised Business Studies, Commercial or Technical Qualification
- Has sold capital equipment with a through life cycle solution incorporating maintenance, spares, repairs and services.
- Will come from a commercial vehicle specification environment ideally from a construction and/ or waste management sector.
- It would be a distinct advantage of the candidate came with knowledge of digital systems such as telematics etc.
- Significant experience in a sales management role from within a related industry, including sales strategy and planning.
- Record of leading and managing a successful sales team
- Record and knowledge of engineering production and or bodybuilder operations is also desirable
