We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Accountant to join our small team in Burnham, Berkshire.
Senior Accountant Role Overview:
The Senior Accountant is a key role within the company. You will be managing, reconciling, and evaluating the accounts for the full group of companies, whilst coordinating and overseeing the successful daily running of the accounting department.
Senior Accountant Duties:
Preparation of monthly management accounts, reports and VAT returns
Preparation of annual accounts
Preparation of branch accounts
Review and approval of company accounts and tax
Checking and activation of leasing contracts
Reconciliation of finance systems
Calculation of management charges
Tax checking and approval
Review and approval of supplier invoices
Management of Direct Debit approvals
Management of BACs payments
Management of customer invoice process and arrears chasing
Weekly treasury and cash flow
Management of fixed deposits
Staff management & training
Managing and building relationships with external accountants, auditors and bankers
Essential criteria:
ACCA / ACA qualified or equivalent with at least 3 years post qualification experience
Able to demonstrate financial management experience
Experienced in working with clients in a busy accountancy practice
Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of accounting systems – Sage, QuickBooks, and ideally Xero
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
Experience of working with the education sector is beneficial but not essential
Self-motivated and pro-active.
Team-oriented, with a positive can-do attitude, is absolutely essential.
