We’re looking for a Food and Beverage Team Leader to join us at Ilam and Dovedale.
A driving licence is essential for this role due to the rural location and requirement to drive between locations.

Hours: 1950 hours per year (full-time), working on average 37.5 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days. Regular weekend working is required, as well as weekdays, school holidays and Bank holidays.
Salary: £23,166 per year.
Duration: Permanent contract.

What it’s like to work here
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you’ll be based at Ilam Park (Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 2AZ), on the bank of the River Manifold. It features an Italian Garden and tea-room, with views across to Thorpe Cloud and Bunster Hill. You’ll also work at Dovedale, a National Nature Reserve with an ancient ravine woodland, wildflowers, limestone crags and a variety of wildlife. Dovedale is a purely outdoor site, with mobile catering vans open on weekends.

What you’ll be doing
As a Team Leader, you’ll be giving day-to-day support to your team, to make sure they’re consistently giving great service to everyone who comes to the café. This is a busy, lively place to work, so you’ll need to be adaptable.
Your focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people and serving them food and drink. Crucial to this role will be your love of working with people, your positive ‘can-do’ attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service.
Using your excellent eye for detail, you’ll make sure all displays and signs are accurate, and that the food is looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food.
You’ll also be supervising the induction and training of colleagues, to help build a team that’s dedicated to great service and to giving people a day to remember.
We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
