POSITION:
We are seeking an experienced, solutions-focused, approachable, and proactive Development Manager and Lead Systems Architect to support our dynamic logistics company based in Lincolnshire, Illinois. This role reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and requires a true Business Partner to the management team and collaborator to the entire organization. Critical parts of this this position include management of a development team located in Illinois and around the world, active teamwork with then entire organization, and senior program management of key projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The ideal candidate will oversee the full scope of systems development and serve as the lead systems architect for the organization and will partner with the management team on strategic initiatives and execution. Specific functions include:
· Manage IT Development team, develop and coach team members, grow the team with the business, and establish, support, and monitor near-term and long-term goals for the development team.
· Understand, align with, and drive the IT strategic direction and roadmap.
· Be responsible for the existing home-grown applications, improvements, and management.
· Lead, architect and develop new applications to support new business and internal operational improvements.
· Drive development of quality business requirements documents for key project to enhance efficiency and quality.
· Oversee the delivery of high-quality and creative systems and applications that enhance the company’s reputation and provide competitive advantage.
· Define and manage the resources and schedule of assigned projects to deliver Development Team projects on time and in budget.
· Take full ownership of the software development life cycle discipline and processes and be responsible for on time delivery with excellent quality.
· Work closely with IT Tech-Op team to deliver IT solutions to business partners and internal users including projects and supports.
· Evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to continuously improve speed, efficiency, and scalability of our application environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred. or equivalent education and work experience.
· 8+ years of experience in software development.
· 5+ years of IT team management experience.
· Excellent programming experience and skills, including but not limit to Dell Boomi Platform, .Net, .Net Core, SQL server, Angular, Node.JS, Kafka, MongoDB, ASP .Net and ASP .Net Core.
· Good experience in API and EDI.
· Experience in ERP development is a plus.
· Experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 or Dynamics 365 F&O is a big plus.
· Possess sufficient writing and oral skills to communicate clearly with all stakeholders, supervisors, and peers.
