NXTGEN have an outstanding Financial Control Manager position for leading Peterborough based business, who have a reputation for offering fantastic career development prospects. This key role will see you work closely with the wider finance community to mitigate financial risks through the review and testing of financial controls, making improvements to processes as required. As Financial Control Manager, you can gain great satisfaction within the role by driving change and making a positive difference to the quality of financial information being shared across the business. You will also lead a small team in the delivery of the financial assurance plan, reviewing and testing processes as required. As Financial Control Manager you will also demonstrate excellent and up to date knowledge of financial regulation, dealing with technical queries as and when required.
Key responsibilities will include:
Ownership for the design and delivery of the Financial Control Framework plan for the business
Continual review of financial controls to ensure they meet the needs of the business, stress testing these as required
Identify potential risks and work with the finance team and Internal Audit function to ensure these are mitigated through process improvement
Act as the key day to day point of contact for the 2nd line Assurance team, influencing strategy and decisions relating to the Assurance plan
Management of a small team, providing ongoing training to support their development as well as workloads to ensure projects are delivered on time
The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), preferably with a background in either Internal or External Audit. The role would be well suited to those looking to make their first move from practice into industry. The position would also suit those with a recognised internal audit qualification (IIA or equivalent), who have a background in financial audit. You will be confident in all aspects of financial control testing and will be confident presenting findings to senior and executive-level stakeholders. Prior experience managing or mentoring small teams would be beneficial but not essential. Candidates will be passionate about adding value and developing robust financial controls to ensure quality financial information can be produced and shared amongst the wider finance team.
