Nxtgen Recruitment Looking for Financial Controller at Norwich, Norfolk Full Time
NXTGEN have an outstanding opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a hugely successful and scaling business based in Norwich. Working closely with the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead the day to day accounting function owning the reporting and financial operations to ensure the timely delivery of high calibre technical submissions. You will establish a robust financial control environment across the finance community ensuring a strong balance sheet and suitable cash management, enabling the business to reach it’s financial objectives. This Financial Controller position will also be a key member of the leadership team, influencing the strategic direction of the organisation and providing stakeholders with the financial insights required to make better business decisions. As Financial Controller, you will also lead a team full of potential and you will harness this to create a best in class finance function.
Key responsibilities within this Financial Controller role will include:
Lead the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and board packs, ensuring all management information has clarity and high level analysis
Ownership for all financial accounting and technical submissions including the consolidation of group accounts for the Holdco
Work closely with a range of business stakeholders to ensure they understand and have an awareness for financial performance of their BU
Ownership for all Tax & VAT submissions to HMRC
Drive improved financial reporting through the review of current procedures and policies, implementing new financial control as required
Management of key external relationships such as those with the banks and external auditors
The successful candidate will ideally be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting background and a working knowledge of FRS102 & IFRS. You will be a proven leader with a passion for people development and creating high performing teams, inspiring those around you. A confidence in cash management and strategy, including experience of Hedging and FX would be significantly advantageous. Prior experience operating as part of a senior leadership team would be desirable combined with the ability to influence financial strategy at a high level. You will have the gravitas to command the respect of the executive team, embracing the entrepreneurial spirit and mindset of the business. Excellent Excel skills will also be required within this role.
