The role requires someone who can adhere to standard processes and procedures so ideally an understanding of manufacturing or project orientated business.
The role is broad, very hands on, and the Financial Controller must be prepared to cover most areas within the finance function. For the right person, this is a rewarding and challenging opportunity to progress both as a finance leader, and as part of a management team driving the business forward.
Main duties of the role will include
General tasks
* Accounts payable and receivable supervision
* Cashbook supervision
* Project costing, product margins
* Payroll – data collation
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records and financial systems
* VAT returns
* Monitoring and improving the company’s controls and policies
Financial Management & Control
* Prepare weekly reports
* Responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports
* Support the forecasting and planning process
* Support the active management of overheads whilst seeking out areas for efficiencies
* Play an active role in assisting management with improving financial visibility
* Analysis of results, variances, identifying trends, recommending actions to management
System Management
* Ensure the ERP system is used consistently according to defined processes and procedures.
* Maintain data input control for quality assurance.
* Enhance the utilisation and the value generated by the ERP system.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
* A multi-tasker with the skills to work in a vibrant business
* Priorities management, with keen analytic, organisation and problem solving skills
* Qualified with strong accounting skills from a project led business
* Strong ERP and Excel experience
* Ability to assist in the transitioning to new ERP system.
* Project costing.

* Salary of £36,000 to £40,000k per annum
