Our client is part of a group that has been established for more than 150 years and are market leaders in their niche FMCG manufacturing sector. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programmer of strategic growth they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, self-motivated and multi-disciplined, electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to complement their highly successful and professional team.
Tasked with maintaining a wide range of special purpose production equipment and machinery as well as undertaking both PPM and reactive breakdown repair and installation activities, the successful Maintenance Engineer candidate will be responsible for the delivery of necessary maintenance on schedule including all fault finding and necessary repair, whilst ensuring that all maintenance works are recorded accurately and timely into the CMMS system (Maximo).
You will communicate any unscheduled downtime to the Supervisor and Engineering Manager as necessary and perform appropriate corrective actions accordingly, and will ensure that all housekeeping activities and equipment are maintained in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with relevant Health and Safety standards and legislative or equipment provider guidelines.
You will also be responsible for the identification and implementation of continuous improvements that can be made to the production lines and other operations as well as assisting in new project applications as they may arise, and will work both autonomously and as part of a team to ensure that year on year PPM maintenance KPI’s are improved up as well as striving to achieve minimum machinery downtime and reduced engineering spend, and will essentially be prepared to work on a shift, overtime or call out basis as required by the business.
To be considered for this varied and challenging Burntwood / Cannock based Maintenance Engineer role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will have attained at least an HND or above in a relevant engineering discipline and essentially hold the 17th Edition (or 18th Edition) IEE electrical installation qualification. You will demonstrate previous experience in undertaking basic fault find, modification and debug of PLC’s and associated packaging machinery, with previous experience gained within the food or beverage sector proving distinctly advantageous although not essential.
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels and be a confident communicator with fellow members of the team, suppliers and contractors, and will be Confined Space Entry and Risk Assessment trained for maintenance purposes with an awareness of PUWER regulations again proving advantageous.
You will also essentially be based within a reasonable commute radius of the client site near Burntwood due to the call out nature of the role.
