Professional Technical Ltd Looking for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at London Full Time
An award-winning innovation consultancy creating incredible product experiences for people and brands around the world are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. This role will involve collaborating with their innovative clients to bring bold, meaningful visions to life. Based in Bray (near Dublin, Ireland) this is a permanent role offering an attractive salary and benefits package in line with skills and experience.
Please note: This is a fulltime role based in Bray, Dublin. If successful, you will be expected to work primarily from our offices.
As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will you be responsible for:
Using concept sketches, 3D software, simulation software, engineering knowledge and hands on experience to explore, outline, refine, and document customer focused products.
Supporting the development of whole products as well as mechanisms and sub-assemblies.
End-to-end project management of multiple projects and under minimal supervision, research, plan, develop, modify, and verify components/modules for medical devices and mass produced consumer electronics.
Detailed 3D outline and 2D documentation of all parts and assemblies including performing tolerance analysis to ensure high quality robust creation of complex mechanical systems.
Conduct reviews, FMEA’s and verification programs.
Build proof of concept rigs and models using rapid prototyping to evaluate user experience, functionality, manufacturability, and robustness of design solutions and define functional lab testing and analysis of test data to prove same.
Work with external manufacturing partners and other suppliers.
Using various methods of communication to assure key stakeholders are informed of your progress on projects.
To be a successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will have:
Proven experience as a Product Design Engineer, Product Designer, Development or Mechanical Engineer.
PhD, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree qualified in a Mechanical / Product Engineering, Physics, Innovation or Science-based field.
Experience in medical devices, consumer electronics, innovation consultancy or household / kitchen appliances.
Proven experience in developing plastic injection moulded components and enclosures for mass manufacture.
Expert user of 3D CAD (such as CREO, Solidworks, Inventor or Siemens NX) with high quality 3D surfacing an advantage.
Experience in Simulation (FEA, CFD using Ansys or Altair an advantage).
