PWE Recruitment Group Looking for Mechanical Engineer at Norwich, Norfolk Full Time
Our client is a leading engineering company based in Norwich, providing equipment and solutions to the global offshore energy industry.
We are recruiting on their behalf for a Mechanical Engineer to work on projects within their offshore structures business unit, delivering work against a defined project plan within agreed timeframes and responsible for all aspects of assigned packaged equipment delivery within overall project.
Duties will include:
Responsibility for package(s) of equipment from project commencement until completion.
Review and/ or author equipment specifications, datasheets and scopes of work.
Effectively communicate progress to all project stakeholders
Assess project risks such as commercial, contractual, design and schedule.
Instigate strategic risk reviews of the equipment being purchased.
Define, manage and drive the project delivery schedule.
Forecast costs at an individual package/ project level, highlighting variations.
Coordinate and oversee supplier FATs with client and third-party involvement.
Ordering of material / services in good time to meet project requirements.
Lead design review meetings for packaged equipment.
Present to Managers/Directors, reviews on Project/Package Progress.
Author variations to scopes of work.
Management of a variety of construction/engineering contracts.
Regular review of supplier relationships.
Report all technical, operational, contractual, claims, and financial related matters.
Checking of detailed technical documents, reports and drawings linked to own project.
Who you are:
You will hold a minimum of an HNC in a relevant engineering discipline and have at least five years’ experience working on projects relating to the offshore environment.
This will include experience of acting as a team leader, successful client facing interactions, financial forecasting in a project environment, holding and leading meetings.
This is a six-month contract role.
