R13 Recruitment Looking for Teaching Assistant at Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire Full Time

Rthirteen are proudly partnering a successful training provider in their search for a Teaching Assistant to join their team in HMP The Mount. Working collaboratively with tutors and staff in a challenging, yet rewarding, environment, you will provide support to learners with neurodiverse and inclusion needs, including those with disabilities, and promote an effective and inclusive learning environment.

**You will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB check for this position**

Duties to include:

• Undertaking LDD initial screening of offenders.
• Identifying individual learner needs and agreeing on appropriate support.
• Identifying LDD barriers, ways to overcome them and, where necessary, making adjustments.
• Producing Individual Learning Support Plans and frequently monitoring and reviewing progress.
• Proving learner support to small groups and on a one-to-one basis within accredited learning programmes, leading to employability outcomes.
• Effectively setting targets to meet learner needs, including personal, social and educational targets.
• Providing appropriate support and reasonable adjustments in formal assessments.
• Coordinating and managing the allocation of support to those with a learning support plan.
• Motivating learners to complete tasks and encouraging them to interact and work cooperatively with others.

You will/have be:

• A good basic general education, including GCSE Maths and English grade C or equivalent.
• NVQ2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a willingness to work towards.
• Previous experience in a learning environment, specifically working in the special needs education and disabilities field.
• The ability to manage a caseload of learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A sensitive and positive approach to complex situations.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• A passion to motivate and lead by example.

This is a full time, permanent role offering a salary of £23,000 per annum.
