Estimators required for a national Rier 1 contractor based in Berkshire. The company are one of the most succesful and profitable contractors in the country and continue to grow and expand their workload in line with their long term business plan. Their Southern operations are based from their office near Reading and covers the M$ corridor and all counties South of taht line.
They target schemes between £10 and £50 million on a mix of frameworks, repeat business opportunities with long term clients and will also identify and target single stage bids for teh right project and the right client. – typical schemes are schools and education schemes for local authorities and thge DFE, schemes on the SCF, Pagabo and MOJ frameworks, student accomodation and PRS developments, distribution hubs and large multi use retail and leisure developments – a really wide and diverse range of projects to work on.
The role includes forms part of a wider programme to be able to bid and win more work for the region so you will be joining an established and succesful pre-construction team. The role includes identifying and targetting clients and projects that suit the companys profile. You will agree with the regional director a business plan for each scheme and then take ownership of the agreed areas and disciplines within the tender, carry out full analysis, produce bill pf quantities for each elememt of the works. send out, manage and chase enquiries with supply chain, identify both risks and opportunities, work with the design and commercial teams to produce the best available bid. Deal directly with the client and other specialist representatives.
You will ideally have worked for a tier 1 or larger regional contractor on schemes above £10 million and have experience of both D&B projects and framework negotiations, be able to demonstrate excellent work practices, attention to detail, organisational skills as well as the ability to identify opportunties and potential issues. They are open minded to looking at contracts, project or site managers who have experience of bidding, winning and delivering schemes that want to become more involved in the pre-construction world.
