The Lead Technical Writer will join a product house at the forefront of Enterprise Cyber Security. They have a suite of breakthrough products in the Application Security space – empowering Application Developers + users with a ‘White Glove’ service. Having established a dominant market position with their core product – they are expanding their products and services into new areas. They are investing heavily into growing their well-established Belfast engineering hub, with exciting expansion plans afoot. Most importantly, they are some of the most talented and ‘dead on’ Software/Security professionals in the game!
The Lead Technical Writer role
As a Lead Technical Writer, you are the head of the technical publications function, working closely with the Director of Product Design. You will produce technical documents in established (25%) and emerging (75%) product lines. You will work cross-functionally with developers and the Product team, asking the right questions to gain a broad understanding of product features and functionality. You will use these insights to produce engaging and straightforward user guides, installation manuals, and integration guides for customers. The Lead Technical Writer will enrich the experience of Security-product users.
Need
The Lead Technical Writer will have a unique skillset; with the ability to ‘translate’ complex technical concepts into beautifully-written articles! You might describe yourself as a story-teller, a techie, a marketer, an influencer – or a combination of these!
(You should have🙂
-5-7 years’ experience as a Technical Writer for software products
-Confident user of AsciiDoc and/or Markdown
-Experience with documentation site generator toolchains like Antora, git
-Experience with API documentation and associated tools: SwaggerHub / ReadMe
-Understanding of build processes, and comfortable using shell scripts, etc
-Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
