SEN Teacher
Daily Rate: £150 – £250 (depending on experience)
Location: Ealing Borough
Job Type: Full time, Long term temporary maternity Cover (1 year from September)
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for a maternity cover position, starting in September. This role is based in a supportive SEN primary school within the Ealing Borough, catering to children with autism, high sensory needs, and pre-verbal students. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a passion for special education.
Day-to-day of the role:
Deliver tailored education plans that meet the individual needs of children with autism and high sensory needs.
Create a safe, nurturing environment that is sensitive to the children’s sensory experiences and communication challenges.
Employ a range of teaching methods and tools to engage and support pre-verbal children.
Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to enhance learning outcomes.
Monitor and assess the progress of each child, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child’s development and wellbeing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism and sensory needs.
Understanding of the communication challenges faced by pre-verbal children.
Ability to create and adapt teaching materials to meet diverse needs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
