Reed Engineering are working with a dedicated bulk liquid storage terminal that are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking day to day mechanical repairs to both rotating and non-rotating assets. The candidate shall have a ‘Can do’ attitude and the ‘drive to get things done’ in the most efficient way whilst ensuring quality standards are met.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be to ensure the safe and efficient terminal operations by carrying out day to day preventive, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical equipment to the highest possible standard.
Qualifications:
Education
Time served apprentice City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering subject is essential.
Good literacy, numeracy & writing skills. Minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent.
Experience
5 years minimum experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within an Oil & Gas or Chemical industry but not essential. Other 24/7 industries will be considered.
Experience of working in a COMAH site is an advantage.
Experience and knowledge of Risk Assessments and COSHH is an advantage.

Experienced Forklift Truck and/or Cherry Picker driver but not essential as training will be given.
Able to work at heights and climb ladders is essential.
Able to work in confined spaces. e.g. Inside vessels, pits, culverts and bunds is essential.
Slinging and rigging is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
Benefits:
Salary – £36,000 to £38,000 per annum depending one experience
Pension – Contributory pension, where company contributions will be +0.5% greater than employee contributions, capped at 7%
Annual leave – 25 days plus bank holidays
Overtime – Overtime is available at a premium rate, based on the business requirements
Working hours – 7:00am to 16:00pm Monday to Friday with 0.5-hour unpaid lunch break. 42.5 hours paid plus overtime available.
