My client in the Nuclear Research sector are looking to appoint a number of Principal/Lead Software Engineers to join their Robotics team for a 12 month+ on-going contract. This is a hybrid-working role with 3 days visit to site and pay rate offered is £46.46 per hour (PAYE) or £60.40 per hour (Umbrella)
The Role:
To lead a range of complex robotic & digital technology related projects within the organisation’s Robotics and Remote and Handling department. The portfolio will span all aspects of technology development, including research, development, the design of digital systems, deployment, and demonstration. The role will include producing high quality software and providing software engineering expertise to the project teams. Another key purpose of the role is to support the implementation and development of a team of multi-disciplinary technologists and engineers with varying levels of digital technology related knowledge and experience.
Essential:
* A proven ability of technical leadership.
* Proven expertise’s in software development of digital systems.
* Proven expertise in software for robotics and remote handling.
* Degree in Software Engineering or technical subject or equivalent knowledge and experience.
* Extensive industry experience working in software engineering or related field.
* Strong programming capability to develop working, understandable software in languages such as C++, Python, etc.
* A strong understanding of software engineering techniques and design principles, including lifecycle, version control and documentation.
* Experience with good development practices throughout the software development lifecycle such as version control and testing.
* Strong ability to apply software design principles, and manage the software quality of other team members.
* Interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to lead and function as part of a team. Strong track record of interacting with senior stakeholders.
