We’re looking for a Welder to become a part of our team in Davidstow. Are you passionate about moving things forward, being hands-on to find solutions, and supporting a team that crafts quality dairy products?

Here at our Davidstow site where you’ll be based, we manufacture and produce our Cathedral City and Davidstow cheddar ranges also, Whey and GOS which is short for Galacto-oligosaccharides! Whereas our other sites manufacture and produce other well-known brands such as Clover & Frylight.

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

• Undertaking all activities associated with the installation of new/maintenance of plant and equipment at site. This will include fabrication, welding, brazing, general engineering installation and repair with a mechanical/welding bias.
• Safely undertake all work in accordance with site and group H&S standards and promote a culture of safe working within the engineering department as well as the site as a whole.
• Scoping, measuring, cutting and fabricating with precision and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards.
• Working on an individual basis as well as part of the wider engineering team to maintain, prioritise and efficiently close out maintenance works.
• Driving the fabrication, welding, general engineering installation and welding repairs in accordance with site and group engineering standards.
• Effectively execute day to day improvements on site to ensure asset reliability which supports internal customers in achieving planned production.
• Supporting the delivery of the maintenance strategy on site.

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU HAVE…

• Time served Apprenticeship or City & Guilds Welding Skills to Level 3.
• Minimum of 2 -3 years work experience in welding in fabrication or maintenance environment (or equivalent) is required.
• Fabrication experience in (but not limited to) carbon steel, mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• To weld/fabricate component parts and assemblies to agreed standards and engineering drawings in various materials using stick, MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding equip and techniques.
• To weld/repair installed plant assets and infrastructure to agreed standards and engineering drawings in various materials using stick, MIG and TIG welding equip and techniques.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches and plans to determine welding measurements, positions and appropriate materials including time frames and cost for projects and repairs.
• Utilize various welding equip and techniques to maintain metal equipment, structures and frameworks.
• Ideally Coding accredited as well as MAG and FCAW welding equip. and techniques would be advantageous.
• General engineering understanding and application.
• Experience in food and beverage industries would be advantageous.
• Be able to demonstrate practical engineering skills and enjoy a hands-on approach.
