WHAT WILL THE DATA SCIENTIST BE DOING?
A successful candidate will be working alongside a team of specialists on a range of projects in the National Security sector. The data analytics work encompasses all types of data using a range of software and approaches to suit the customers’ needs, such classifying data through developing machine learned models. You will be working on diverse projects with varying clients across a number of sectors. There will be opportunities to apply your skills to rapidly prototype new approaches or to advance existing solutions, as well as the chance to work on new, exciting technologies that have not been fully tested. You will exploit your software expertise to solve big streaming or data challenges. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide technical leadership and interact with stakeholders if they wish to.
THE DATA ENGINEER SHOULD HAVE….
Expertise working with complex data, with experience in any of the following:
Large scale data ecosystems, analytic frameworks, and cloud infrastructure – primarily AWS
Programming languages and techniques for visualising data – primarily in Python
Toolkits and techniques for data cleansing, data processing and preparation, storage, analysis and fusion
Techniques and toolkits for analysing data streams in real time
A strong research mindset
You will also be proactive beyond your technical skills, being able to communicate successfully with a range of external and internal stakeholders. A successful candidate will work well in a team or individually, being curious to seek out the best solution and approach for the task at hand.
