Sarah used to work in the Software BA team but she’s just been promoted to a Senior BA. Her story is proof that most vacancies here are filled from within – which means this could not only be your next job, but the one after that as well.
Essentially, in this role you’ll be tasked to analyse client’s requirements to design and document efficient and effective processes that meet their needs. You would then translate this information across to the solution delivery team.
As the role is very Software/Product focused, It’s essential that you have an understanding/experience of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and because the company are a FinTech, experience of working within the Finance Industry too.
You probably want to know what’s involved.
If you’ve been working as a BA for a few years elsewhere you’ll know what it takes. You’ll consult with customers to identify, define and document their business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access to help come up with a solution that better suits their needs.
Some of the things you’ll get up to will include defining and documenting customer business functions and processes, analyse the feasibility for new systems as well as advise on enhancements to existing ones too, whilst ensuring the system designs fit the user needs. You’ll also participate in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality as well as plan, organise and conduct business process reengineering/improvement projects.
You’ll also act as a point of contact/liasion between departmental end-users, technical analysts, information technology analysts, consultants and other stakeholders in the software applications team.
The role is fully remote however, ideally you’ll live within a reasonable distance of the companies HQ in Milton Keynes as you may from time-to-time be asked to come in for meetings. Also, you may be asked to visit sites across not only the UK, but Europe too so there is an exciting opportunity here for travel but the likelihood of this happening is probably around the 10% mark.
You’ll sit within a team of other BA’s varying in experience, all doing what they do best. This means there are plenty of people nearby that you can ask for help if you need it.
Ideally you’ll have the below set of skills:
On offer is a good salary and excellent benefits including: Private Medical Insurance, Pension Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme, Group Life Insurance, Holiday Buy and Sell Scheme, Support with professional qualifications, Professional Association subscriptions fee assistance, Support services, Health, mental health, wellbeing and healthy living and financial and legal wellbeing & more!
