Lead English Teacher KS3&4 – Salford

Simply Education is proudly supporting a Salford secondary academy in their search for a Lead English specialist to join them full-time. This role is to start in September.

The position will be on a full-time basis starting September 2022. ECT/NQTs and experienced Teachers are being considered for this role.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner and talented leader who has the vision and determination to lead the English department to achieve outstanding outcomes for all our students.

You will be required to teach KS3 predominantly, with a small number of KS4 classes on your timetable. You will therefore need to have a sound knowledge of the GCSE curriculum.

The school you will be joining is a thriving secondary school, supportive department with a senior leadership team who go above & beyond to support all staff.

The school is looking for a teacher with experience teaching English to a range of abilities. You must demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and deliver lessons in an enthusiastic and engaging manner. The school require a teacher who is adaptable, so you will need to think on your feet.

Successful candidates will need to;

– Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an NQT with a PGCE, GTP or Bachelor of Education

– Have at least 6 months experience working within a UK based school

– Have the ability to develop good relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues

– Have the ability to work in a team and also use your own initiative

– Have the ability to manage classes and deal with challenging behaviour

-Have excellent communication skills.
