Stormx Recruitment Ltd Looking for Tax Senior at Hertford, Hertfordshire Full Time

We are representing a well established practice based in Hertford who are looking for a Tax Senior to join their Tax department on a permanent basis.

The role will be a mix of personal tax returns and corporate returns and with right person being responsible for mmanaging a varied personal tax return portfolio of self-employed, sole traders and business owners and non-residents (up to approx. 400 individuals).

The main responsibilities are:

• Processing & submitting personal tax returns within agreed service and quality standards
• For Limited Companies, submission of Corporation tax computations and CT600’s to HMRC
• Liaising with clients on payments for both Corporation tax and Income tax
• Processing P11’d’s
• Assisting with HMRC tax investigations and dealing with valid tax claims (entrepreneurs’ relief, VCT/EIS relief)
• Working with individuals and SME business owners to help reduce tax liabilities where possible
• Liaising directly with clients regarding Personal tax matters/queries on the phone and in person
• Ensuring that the quality of personal tax work is done to agreed cost and timescales and adhering to the Firm’s quality standards.
• Liaising with the Tax Manager to ensure that work is completed within budget and within HMRC tax deadlines to be considered for the Personal Tax Compliance
• Utilise technical tax knowledge to provide clients with guidance on the range of tax matters, including inheritance tax and capital gains tax, seeking advice from the Tax Manager where necessary.
• As professional knowledge develops, identify and develop tax planning and advisory opportunities for clients and agree how these can be taken forward with the Tax Manager.
