Each Faculty based Research and Innovation Hub has a vacancy for 1 Senior Research Development Officer.

This role is an embedded Faculty role in the Research Development Function, based within the REIS Research and Innovation Hubs – this team is tasked with identifying funding opportunities and supporting the application process, contracts, research governance & integrity.
The Senior Research Development Officer is a critical role in the delivery of research support, embedded in the Faculty Research & Innovation Hub. Working as part of the Research Development Team, the post-holder will support growing the quality and value of funding applications and awards and embed good practice across Swansea University. A member of the Department of Research, Engagement and Innovation Services (REIS), the post holder will provide professional leadership, management, advice and support to academic and professional service staff relating to grant capture and the external funding environment. The focus will be to maximise our uptake of fully cross-university inter-disciplinary opportunities across all disciplines.
The role is therefore a critical role in supporting the Faculties’ ambitions to increase Research income. On the job training is provided along with the opportunity to apply for external training opportunities.

You will have a degree or significant equivalent experience. A postgraduate research degree or equivalent is desirable.
Experience will include Evidence of significant experience in identifying funding opportunities, supporting the development of externally funded research bids with direct experience aligned to the Faculty. Evidence of working in an outcome focused environment with the ability to monitor performance against target will be required.
