Software Development Consultant – Milton Keynes

Job Description:
The Software Development Consultant will work alongside the In-Store Device Engineer to evaluate new potential solutions and hardware options available in the market to ensure our client remains ahead of the competition. They will also work closely with the Product Innovation Manager to communicate new solutions to ensure the roadmap is relevant and up-to-date along with acting as the expert for existing solutions and support current offerings.
This role will also involve the following –
Maintaining and rebuilding exhibition display units on demand for various events/exhibitions
Must excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for success
Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment and take ownership of hardware and software developments
Responding to and following up enquiries from sales to help resellers and end users select, optimal installation configurations
Building relationships across departments to fulfil client requirements
Strong understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP routing, Knowledge of network packet analysis tools use, and configuration are essential
Subject Matter Export for existing and new counting solutions and be able to communicate these to the rest of the New Product Development team
Technical liaison with new solution providers, to research, test and productise new offerings and capabilities
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Ability to prioritize workload and work to deadlines
Relevant experience in a similar industry/role is required
Attention to detail and strong technical/analytical skills are required
Experience in problem analysis and resolution of software problems is preferred
Numerical Competence and problem-solving logic is required
Sound knowledge of CAD software and other technical transferrable skills
