Technical Placements Ltd Looking for Service Engineer Marine Loading Systems at Southampton Full Time
Service Engineer required in the Southampton / Fawley area for marine loading arm engineering / manufacturing company.
£34K – £36K + Overtime, Call out, Pension, Life Assurance, 5 weeks holiday (plus bank holidays).
This role will be mainly based at customer sites in the Southampton Area, although occasional visits to Head Office in Kent and potentially some overseas work.
The Service Engineer role:
Servicing and maintaining existing marine loading equipment, changing seals, hoses, oil filters, hydraulic fittings and worn parts. Upgrading existing systems with more sophisticated systems including hydraulics and PLC controls, providing comprehensive reports regarding work completed, future work required, status of any items requiring to be monitored.
Installation of marine loading arms – working in a team or supervising local labour to carry out the safe and successful installation. Commissioning the hydraulic and electrical systems. Working with the customer to overcome on site issues. Completing and updating local method statements and risk assessments.
Breakdown repairs – to attend sites in the UK
Liaise with the Installation & Service Department to determine specific requirements of the clients.
Carry out site inspections, maintenance and provide written reports detailing issues and parts or ongoing works required.
Actively promote the company products and services
Provide basic onsite maintenance/operator training
Be able to deal with customer issues problems in a professional manner.
To be able to work on your own initiative as well as working in a team of Site Engineers as well as office-based departments – to be professional and courteous at all times.
Service Engineer Requirements:
The successful applicant will need to be dedicated, have a good work ethic, be flexible, be prepared to undergo training as required.
Recognised maintenance or engineering qualification to ONC/HNC level or equivalent or have work experience adequate for us to waive this requirement.
Be able to read and understand drawings/schematics
Must have a broad knowledge of mechanical fitting/assembly and electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, training on our products will be given, but basic knowledge is essential.
Have previous experience as a ‘Field Service Engineering’ role
Be able to work alone or part of a team
Hold a clean driving licence
