A Global Chemical Brand is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for one of their most important UK sites – in the West Midlands. This internationally known chemical business is the leader in its field and are known to be one of the industry’s best employers.
Job Purpose
They are looking for a mechanical engineer to help drive forward the site’s mechanical integrity and reliability of equipment. This is COMAH site and one of their most important UK sites within a truly global network and you will be responsible for the site’s mechanical integrity.
Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the mechanical integrity on site: including lifting appliances and lifting operations, ensuring all equipment is suitably guarded and structural integrity. You will also work to develop a strategy for mechanical maintenance on all plant and equipment and drive forward preventative maintenance by ensuring mechanical maintenance needs are in the CMMS system.
You will liaise with stakeholders and supervise contractors as needed. MoC and HAZOP studies will be part of this role as the site is one of the UKs most closely regulated. You will ensure compliance with PSSR and Mechanical Insurance Work. You will take part in mechanical audits and devising SoPs.
In order to drive forward the site, the mechanical engineer will support process and operational modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and costs.
Job Requirements
– Mechanical /reliability / etc engineer with 5+ years’ experience
– Bachelors degree, with 2:1 classification minimum (chemical or mechanical engineering preferred)
– COMAH experience a plus
– Great technical and interpersonal skills
