Job Description
This is an opportunity to join Rank, a UK leading gaming operator, at the start of a new phase of development. The new data platform has an emphasis on real time data moving away from the traditional batch driven data.
We are looking for experienced Data Engineers looking to take the next step in their career, where you have the opportunity to take on a managerial role and contribute to the best practices, design and development of new Data solutions.
As well as continuously improving the teams’ principles and best practices, fully engaging in the development process.
As a Data Engineering Lead you are able to;
Identify suitable, “right size” solutions, to delivery requirements.
Contribute to the development process, to identify optimal solutions.
Effectively contribute and conduct code reviews.
Have excellent working knowledge of engineering principles and the whole software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Work closely with all members of a geographically distributed agile team to deliver high-quality code.
Participate in all agile planning meetings and stand-ups.
Contribute to all aspects of design – including security, encryption, error logging, scalability, development environment configuration and testing.
Perform unit and system/Integration level testing on all applications.
Demonstrate competent knowledge of architectural methods and design patterns.
Present different options for solution design along with their pros and cons.
Qualifications
Having proficient knowledge on;
Source Control Management (SCM) e.g. Git
Continuous Integration Platforms (CI/CD, Azure Dev Op).
Agile Methodologies – SCRUM, KANBAN
Task tracking systems e.g. JIRA
Technologies, including SQL, SSIS, Data Bricks, Python, Spark, Kafka.
Technical skills and hands on experience on as many of the following;
Several years of experience of Data Engineering / BI Development
Microsoft Azure Technologies – eg. Azure Dev Ops, Terraform, Synapse, Cosmos Db, etc
